Amr Zakaria

Let's unlock your potential together

Hi, I’m Amr. I’m from Nasr City in Cairo but I’ve been living in the Sinai Peninsula since 1998. I traded in city life for laid-back beach living and the life of a dive instructor — I’ve never looked back.

I’ve been training PADI Instructors since 2016. Before that, I worked as a PADI Instructor for more than a decade. While I still teach entry-level courses, my focus now is training professional divers like you.

You can find me underwater most of the time but after I hang up my wetsuit, I enjoy getting involved in community initiatives and hanging out with my wife Nathalie and our son Nael.

EXPERIENCE

Before becoming a PADI Course Director, I taught recreational scuba for 15 years. Over the years I’ve trained hundreds of students across the full PADI curriculum, including lots of Divemasters — many of whom now work as professional divers. Coming into contact with students from all walks of life and skill levels means that I’ve learnt a thing or two about diver training. I’m excited to share that knowledge with you.

HIGH STANDARDS

Because I want new instructors to feel confident in their skills and abilities, I take the time to make sure you understand everything in the course and how it translates to real-life teaching. You’ll learn how to be a dive professional, not just how to pass the Instructor Examination. Amr IDC maintains high standards and is committed to upholding PADI’s regulations and procedures.

FIRST EGYPTIAN
CD IN DAHAB

Being able to teach IDCs in both English and Arabic, depending on the needs of my students, means I can always communicate the IDC structure, goals and requirements clearly, and offer detailed feedback to my IDC candidates. Egypt is blessed with the Red Sea, the Mediterranean coast and a thriving dive industry, I’m proud to help more Egyptians and divers from the MENA region join the profession.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVIST

From planting 240 trees across Dahab to participating in regular clean-up initiatives, environmental actions are close to my heart. Today especially,
I think the burden of care is on each of us to act in ways that positively impact the earth. As divers, we’re in a unique position to raise awareness about ocean pollution and help prevent it in the first place. Amr IDC aims for minimal environmental impact during training.
